Providing in-service education to clinical team members is particularly complex given the everyday challenges of communicating technical details, allocating time for busy staff, and providing access to restricted GMP lab space.  In addition to educating the clinical team, it is paramount to disseminate information as well as train internal department members. Projects and initiatives that involve administrative, quality, and clinical decision making are most effective when they are based on a solid understanding of laboratory practices.  This in itself is a challenge, given the varied levels of knowledge and experience within a cellular therapy facility.  Consequently, the fundamentals of clinical processing are often unfamiliar to staff members who aren’t directly involved with the everyday workings of the lab. An in-service and training website can be an effective tool for meeting these challenges.

This webinar will detail our experience at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Cell Manipulation Core Facility with a focus on the following learning objectives:

1.       Learn how to identify and address communication challenges.

2.       Create an in-service / training website using a simplified and effective approach.

3.       Develop strategies for implementing with impact.

Additionally, this webinar will explore the benefits of ISCT's recently launched BEACON Suite of Navigational Tools as the newly expanded repository of cell therapy resources created by ISCT members, for ISCT members. The new tools include an upgraded Cell Therapy Bioprocessing Tools and Reagents Database, a Regulatory, Quality and Operations Knowledge Bank, an Image Bank and - coming soon - Commercialization Roadmaps.
