Stem Cells, Cell Therapies, and Bioengineering in Lung Biology and Diseases
July 15-18, 2019
Hosted by the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT

This bi-annual invitational event draws top researchers in the field, and their trainees, from around the globe and is the leading conference in the rapidly progressing fields encompassing lung regenerative medicine and bioengineering. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss recent research, explore opportunities for new collaborations, and identify the most important needs and priorities for future programs in stem cell, cell therapy, and bioengineering approaches to explore lung biology and/or prevent and treat lung diseases.  Featured presentations and conference events will include those on advanced techniques for study and updates in MSC and EV-based cell therapies for lung disease as well as on commercialization.  There are also sessions particularly geared towards junior investigators and trainees including elevator pitch and diversity workshops.  Travel awards are available for junior investigators and trainees.

The ISCT has long been a supporter and had a strong presence at the meeting.  For the upcoming meeting, Bruce Levine, ISCT President –Elect, Don Phinney Editor Cytotherapy, and Dan Weiss, ISCT Chief Scientific Officer, are featured speakers.

All interested attendees are encouraged to review the website and to contact either the conference chair, Darcy Wagner, or Dan Weiss for more details on participating.  Junior investigators and trainees are particularly welcome. Visit the conference website.

Travel Awards will be selected based on poster abstracts submitted by the April 30, 2019 deadline. The top 9 abstracts will be selected for presentation in 20-minute time slots during the conference. These awards will be selected through blinded review by the awards committee. Included among these Oral Presentation Travel Awards will be two awards specifically for women, under-represented minority individuals and/or researchers with disabilities. These awards will include payment or reimbursement of the registration fee, lodging for the duration of the conference and a bursary to use toward travel expenses.
