Dr. Ashley Krull, of the Telegraft Editorial Board sits down with Tom Wyrobnik, winner of the ISCT 2021 Early Stage Professional Abstract Award. Tom shares his unique passion for blending bioprocess engineering and cell biology.
Tom Wyrobnik showcased research utilizing a novel bioreactor impeller during the ISCT Chief Scientific Officer Abstract Showcase at the ISCT 2021 Annual Meeting. For this work, Tom received the Early Stage Professional Abstract Award, earning him the chance to present his oral abstract entitled “Engineering characterization of the novel Bach impeller for use in stem cell manufacturing.” Tom currently is a PhD candidate at University College London but conducting part of his dissertation research at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute at A*STAR in Singapore. He spoke virtually with Telegraft Editorial Board member, Ashley Krull, about his unique doctoral work and enthusiasm for bridging the gap between bioprocess engineers and cell biologists.
